Gateways

Sometimes vacant land provides the opportunity to do something special, create a gateway to a community or make a statement about the neighborhood.

At 40th St Street and Lancaster Avenue, PHS worked with the Philadelphia Mural Arts program and local residents to create an homage to the rich history
of the Belmont neighborhood. The Peace Garden in Gray’s Ferry is another collaboration with the Mural Arts Program to recognize this neighborhood’s efforts to foster racial harmony.

At Ridge and Jefferson PHS worked with the Village of the Arts and Humanities to create an artful mosaic introduction to the Ridge Avenue commercial corridor.
