About the Green Roof: Totaling
over 45,000 square feet, it is the largest green roof on an existing building in Philadelphia. Says Denis O’Brien, the company's president and CEO, “As a major business in the region, being environmentally responsible is not just a nice thing to do—it’s the right thing to do.” In its first season, more than 500 people toured the roof.

Plant List: The planting design for the PECO roof contrasts the low-growing non-native succulents over the extensive area with native perennials and ornamental grasses in the planting beds surrounding the viewing deck. The sedums have achieved tremendous coverage in the growing season and performed very well.
