GREEN CITY YOUTH: Kensington Culinary Arts School

Students at the Kensington Culinary Arts School (KCA) focused on food gardening for their Green City Youth service project. Thanks to a new raised bed provided by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, KCA students are now demonstrating the importance of growing food locally right on their Kensington neighborhood campus.

During the May dedication event,
KCA students provided healthy food information to students from a neighboring pre-school as seen below.

Earlier in the year, while participating in the Green Plan Philadelphia Open Space Forum for Youth, student Marcus M. proclaimed, “We might be the generation to change the world." Another student, Ray M. found his voice through art when his drawing was selected as the official Green City Youth logo.
