About PHS Members' Day
Don’t miss the annual PHS Members’ Day on Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 11 am to 4 pm at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia.
 It’s a fun-filled day for the entire family, with children’s activities, special members’ promotions, tours of the Navy Yard, a marketplace with vendors selling an array of plants and garden accessories, and the ever-popular Annual Plant Dividend. PHS merchandise will be for sale. The day will feature exciting lectures and demonstrations on horticultural topics beginning at 10 am and continuing until 3 pm, and local plant societies will be on hand.
In the Membership Tent, members who renew (regardless of expiration date) and members’ guests who join PHS that day will receive free daffodil bulbs.
Food and drink will also be available for purchase.
Members can visit the Plant Dividend Tent to select free plants (one for associate members and three for full household memberships and above). Valid Membership Cards are required to enter the Dividend tent, so please remember to bring your card or visit the Membership Tent for a temporary card.
Plants are grown and donated by other members, commercial growers, and expert propagators. Selections include perennials, shrubs, houseplants, and trees that will beautify your indoor and outdoor garden for many years to come.
Be sure to stop at the Gold Medal Plants tent, where you can purchase exceptional plants that have been recognized with the PHS Gold Medal Plant Award. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions.
There will also be a live auction from 1:30 to 2:30, featuring specimen plants and other garden goodies .
