Formerly Kids Grow Expo

h2o

What is the Junior Flower Show? The Junior Flower Show (once called Kids Grow Expo) is a horticultural exhibition by and for school-age children in the greater Philadelphia region. Produced by The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the Junior Show is part of Temple University Ambler's annual Earthfest celebration.

The theme for the 2012 Show is H20: How to Grow. This topic is meant for educators to further their students' understanding of the importance of water as a natural resource.

The Junior Flower Show is a free event that allows youngsters to celebrate Earth Day with a number of activities and exhibits related to environmental awareness. There are educational exhibits, service-learning projects and opportunities to compete for ribbons by entering a classroom project, prized plant, or horticulturally related artistic creation.

Each spring, the Junior Flower Show brings students out of their classrooms to enjoy 90+ exhibitors, all of whom share information about Earth Day. A number of activity stations offer education opportunities for the young people.

The Junior Flower Show receives numerous entries in the artistic and horticultural classes. Presentation boards are entered detailing classroom projects related to the show theme. Ribbons are awarded to Best of Show winners.
