Community Greening Award
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), along with the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful alliance (KPB), would like to acknowledge and recognize beautification efforts throughout their regions that have resulted in improved community green spaces.
If you are involved with a group who has spruced up the landscape at your local park or business or other public space such as a church, school or library, PHS and KPB invite you to be recognized for your achievements.
The first step is to nominate your greening project for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Community Greening Award by July 15, 2008. Next, a panel of experts will visit your site during July or August and evaluate it for plant variety, use of space, and overall horticultural practices.
PHS has proudly acknowledged efforts of those who have improved their communities by greening Main Streets, traffic islands, public parks, commercial ventures and train stations in
past years. Sites that have been recognized in previous years may be evaluated for maintenance.
All honorees are invited to an Awards reception held in the fall at one of three designated sites to be announced in the near future.
For more information, call 215-988-8897 or click here.
Nominate a site online or print the form, and mail to the address listed at the bottom of the form. The deadline for accepting 2008 nominations is July 15, 2008.
