City Gardens Contest gives Philadelphia residents recognition for
their skillful and imaginative gardening and offers them the opportunity
to compete for prizes in several gardening categories. Launched
in 1975, the contest now receives over 300 entries with teams of judges
visiting
each site during July and August.
Home gardeners may enter front or backyard flower or vegetable gardens, as well as gardens grown exclusively in containers.
