This one-day conference, held in conjunction with the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University, will highlight the role of women in designing and maintaining landscapes during the beginning of the Twentieth Century. Speakers will include Judith Tankard, author of a new book on Beatrix Farrand; landscape architect CeCe Haydock on the Europhile influence of Edith Wharton; Elaine Weiss, author of Fruits of Victory, a book about the Women’s Land Army in World War I; Marta McDowell speaking on influential women from New Jersey; and Jenny Rose Carey, Ambler Arboretum director, who will discuss important Philadelphians...
