2 Wednesday Sessions: March 18 and 25.
PHS is offering two sessions of hands-on workshops to teach beginning arrangers the basics of floral design. You will start at the beginning and gain confidence as we encourage you to develop your own style and a continuing enjoyment of arranging..
Class I will cover buying, harvesting, and conditioning plant materials and the use of floral foam and mechanics. You will create a garden style (naturalistic) arrangement for your home. In Class II, you will learn the design classifications of flowers for design and be introduced to the elements and principles of design. You will create a traditional decorative table arrangement to take home.
Please bring clippers or scissors and a box to transport the finished arrangements. All containers, flowers, and other supplies will be provided.
Arranging instructor Jane Godshalk, a PHS member and frequent exhibitor and winner at the Philadelphia Flower Show, writes an arranging article for each Green Scene. Jane has studied and exhibited in flower shows throughout the United States and Europe and shares her passion for flowers by teaching floral design.
