The Azalea Garden

The four-acre Azalea Garden, a very special part of Fairmount Park, is located on Kelly Drive, just west of the Art Museum. The garden showcases azaleas, rhododendrons, and pieris, but goes beyond these spring pleasures to feature plants that provide delight the rest of the year. The emphasis is on plants native to the region. These beds now contain a luxuriant mixture of woody and herbaceous plants, all of which are chosen as companions to the azaleas. A dedicated group of volunteers leads the effort to keep this garden growing and glowing. They plant bulbs and flowers, prune shrubs and spent blooms, and weed and water the garden. We invite you to join in caring for this lovely garden. Meet at the pergola.
