PHS Announces Appointment of Kate Wilhelm As Senior Vice President of Business Development

PHILADELPHIA – Katrina L. Wilhelm has been named Senior Vice President of Business Development at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. PHS produces the Philadelphia International Flower Show, the world’s largest and oldest indoor flower show, and operates the nationally renowned urban revitalization program, Philadelphia Green, and Meadowbrook Farm, a boutique garden center and design showcase in Abington Township.

Wilhelm comes to PHS from the Fairmount Park Conservancy, where she oversaw strategic efforts to increase financial support for the park system. As Executive Director of the Conservancy since 2007, Wilhelm’s major accomplishments included completion of an $8.1 million campaign to finish restoration of the Water Works South Garden and Cliffside; management of development of a master plan for the revitalization of Hunting Park in North Philadelphia, with the support of the Ryan Howard Family Foundation; and facilitating the reopening of the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center with Stephen Starr Catering. Wilhelm also served as primary liaison with the City of Philadelphia leadership and other partner organizations.

“The Fairmount Park Conservancy and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society collaborate on many green endeavors throughout the City of Philadelphia,” said John Gattuso, Board President of the Fairmount Park Conservancy. “We look forward to continuing this partnership and working with Kate Wilhelm in her new position at PHS. We wish her much success as she starts this new chapter of her career.”

“PHS is very excited to bring Kate onboard,” said PHS President Drew Becher. “She is extremely well regarded in the foundation and corporate community through her amazing work with the Fairmount Park Conservancy. We look forward to utilizing her skills in strategic marketing and development as PHS expands its role as a leading force for greening in this region and in communities across the country.”
